Sheesh Mahal, which is a part of the Qila Mubarark is worth a visit. Once the residence of the famed Patiala dynasty, the Qila Mubarak Patiala is a fort cum palace and is surrounded by crenellated walls, battlements and turrets. The Qila houses some of the very eminent buildings and palaces which in turn signify the beauty or the imperial grandeur of this fortification.

The Moti Bagh Palace, built in 19th century was made on the lines of Shalimar Gardens of Lahore. As of the present, it houses the most known sports and art gallery- The National Institute of Sports and Art Gallery.

The Chattbir Zoo is the largest zoo of the city. It aims to promote environmental awareness along with protection of all animals. The zoo is said to have a large park and lion safari that serves as the major attraction of the place of Patiala.

Festivals and Events in Patiala
Baisakhi and Guru Purab are among the most famous and celebrated festivals in Patiala. The festival of Baisakhi is a festival celebrated with full zeal and enthusiasm as it is the beginning of the solar year for the Sikh Community whereas in the festival of Guru Purab, are religious in nature with processions being carried out to highlight Guru Nanak Ji’s birthday.
